The State Small Business Credit Initiative (SSBCI) Technical Assistance Center (TAC) helps disadvantaged individuals prepare to access capital in Wisconsin. Resources are provided by the Universities of Wisconsin's Office of Business and Entrepreneurship (OBE) and in partnership with the UW Law & Entrepreneurship Clinic (UWLEC). The program aims to provide no cost support to small business owners with legal, financial, and/or accounting needs.

Technical assistance (TA) refers to the education and guidance provided to entrepreneurs and small-business owners to help them start, grow, and scale businesses. TA helps build the capacity of organizations in order to operate effectively, then to leverage or access capital, and generally help entrepreneurs achieve their business goals. The Office of Business and Entrepreneurship has traditionally supported small business development and entrepreneurial programming through it's core program units, the Small Business Development Center (SBDC)Food Finance Institute (FFI), and Center for Technology and Commercialization (CTC).
